To achieve its mission, ACISP is seeking a visionary and dynamic leader for the position of Principal/Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the institution towards its strategic goals and strengthen its position as a premier college in Africa.
Position Summary
The Principal/CEO will provide strategic leadership and overall management for ACISP, ensuring the effective delivery of its mission and the achievement of its strategic objectives.
This role demands a deep understanding of the insurance, pension, and financial sector landscape across Africa and beyond, coupled with exceptional leadership, management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Key Responsibilities1. Strategic Leadership
- Lead the College in implementing its Five-Year Strategic Business Plan.
- Drive innovation in program development to support Africa’s financial sector needs.
- Enhance international partnerships and foster a global learning environment.
- Provide strategic vision and leadership, aligning ACISP’s activities with the evolving needs of the African financial sector.
- Oversee the development and implementation of academic programs, research initiatives, and consultancy services.
- Oversee the development and delivery of high-impact short- and long-term courses in insurance, risk management, social protection, and leadership.
- Promote research, consultancy, and knowledge dissemination through seminars, workshops, and publications.
- Foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration within the College.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the financial sustainability and operational efficiency of the College.
- Lead the development and implementation of the College’s strategic plan, focusing on innovation, internationalization, and digital transformation.
- Oversee the management of human and physical resources, including faculty, staff, and facilities.
- Promote the College’s reputation and visibility both within Africa and internationally.
- Champion the College’s thematic centers.
- Lead and manage the College’s academic, administrative, and financial operations.
- Ensure effective utilization of human and physical resources, including digital learning platforms and research facilities.
- Build strong partnerships with industry players, academia, government agencies, and international organizations.
- Represent the College at regional and international forums to enhance visibility and influence.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A postgraduate degree in finance, insurance, actuarial science, business administration, marketing, ICT, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in the financial services industry, preferably in insurance, pensions, or working with development partners and international agencies.
- Deep understanding of the African financial sector landscape, including regulatory frameworks, market trends, and key challenges.
- Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, manage budgets, and lead teams effectively.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A track record of building partnerships and fostering collaboration.
- Experience in academia or executive education (preferred).
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in French is an added advantage.
