Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in Denver, USA. AGA has operations in more than ten countries across four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 120 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To apply paint, stain, or other coating to surfaces on machinery, structures and other equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certificate of Secondary School Education with VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade one in arts and painting or equivalent.
  • Must possess Valid Tanzania Driving license.

EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 2 years working experience as a painter.

           MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Mixing and matching paints and colors to meet the texture and look required for the project.
  • To apply protective coating and decorative finishes to equipment, machinery, and other industrial structures.
  • To make sure reports for work orders are completed accurately and on time.
  • Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements and that documentation.
  • Ensure that work is performed as per Instruction and current work orders.
  • To Attend daily safety Meetings.
  • Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner.
  • Must be able to complete all quality assurance paperwork to meet all painting plan requirements; must be able to select the colour materials to suit the task, as outlined in the painting procedure specification.

           

           ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to identify and report abnormalities.
  • Self-motivated, energetic, and results-driven with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
  •  Must have good written and oral communications skills in English language.
