Opportunity: Research assistants – Dodoma Tanzania

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Research assistants to join our agricultural non-governmental organization (NGO). As a research assistant , you will play a crucial role in collecting accurate data related to agriculture in rural communities. Your work will directly contribute to informed decision-making and sustainable development initiatives.

  • Surveys:
  • Review and test the tools before they go to the field.
  • Identify the sampling group to be surveyed.
  • Conduct field surveys in various areas where our projects operates.
  • Interact with farmers, and other stakeholders to collect relevant information.
  • Record data accurately and efficiently using digital tools.
  • Data Collection and Entry:

a. Conduct and enter survey data into databases and spreadsheets.

b. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and proper formatting of collected data.

c. Data analysis, interpretation, and reporting of the findings

3. Community Engagement:

a. Build relationships with local communities, understanding their needs and challenges also build relationships with the local government in the project operation.

4. Report Writing:

a. Prepare concise reports summarizing survey results, trends, and recommendations.

b. Present findings to project managers.

5. Collaboration:

a. Collaborate closely with other team members, including researchers, staff, and project coordinators.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, economics, Data science or related field

· 1-3 years’ experience in Data collection, interpretation, analysis, and reporting

· Willing to work in the remote areas, willing to travel outside Dodoma.

· Trustworthy person with a good personality etc.

· Willing to Demonstrate the previous related project he/she did before.

· Available to start first week of April.

· He or she must have excellent computer skills, competent in Excell SPSS and familiar with Data tools.

  • Must have a personal computer

Language skills

· Good command in both English and Swahili -Must

· Good interpersonal communication skills -Must
