Job Vacancies at TANROADS for Road Project – January 2025
Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) is responsible for maintaining and developing the Trunk and Regional Roads Network in Tanzania Mainland. It also handles Axle Load Control Operations using weighbridge scales. The Regional Manager TANROADS Coast, on behalf of the Chief Executive TANROADS, is seeking qualified and competent Tanzanians to fill vacant posts for the UPGRADING OF UTETE – NYAMWAGE (33.7KM) TO BITUMEN STANDARD CONTRACT NO: TRD/HQ/1036/2022/23 project. The positions are for specific employment contracts on this road project.
Vacant Positions:
Highway Engineers – 2 Posts
Entry Qualifications:
- Must be a Tanzanian Citizen with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with ERB as a Professional Engineer with a current practicing license.
- Postgraduate qualification in Highway Engineering is an added advantage.
- Must have a cumulative working experience of at least seven (7) years in road construction designs and/or supervision.
- Must have served as the Highway Engineer or in an equivalent capacity in at least two (2) road and bridges construction projects of similar nature in the last 10 years.
- Proficiency in Swahili and English is mandatory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise conformity to contract conditions and specifications.
- Review existing designs and advise the Resident Engineer on necessary modifications.
- Control geometric design conformity during construction works.
- Inspect completed works to ensure compliance with technical specifications.
- Prepare control charts and a project master schedule.
- Measure quantities of work carried out.
- Submit detailed progress reports, including cost updates.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Project Manager.
Terms of Service:
- Employment will be on a specified contract for one year.
