Job Overview
Kafika House is seeking a dynamic Clinical Services Manager to lead, innovate, and ensure the delivery of excellent care to children receiving treatment for disabilities. This is an opportunity to work with a dedicated team to shape our signature high-love, low-cost care, foster surgical partnerships, and advance clinical research. The position is part of our management team, led by the CEO, and working closely with the Programmes Manager to ensure clinical excellence across our programmes.
About us
Kafika House is an international NGO based in Arusha, with a facility in Karatu, Tanzania. We run the Kafika House programme, providing a safe and nurturing environment for children undergoing pre- and post-operative care and rehabilitation for surgically treatable disabilities. These include cleft lip and palate, clubfoot, skeletal fluorosis, burn scar contractures, and osteomyelitis. Our vision is that no child in Tanzania should live with a treatable disability.
Role Responsibilities
1. Clinical Services Management:- Oversee the delivery of a high standard of patient care across all facilities, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Undertake complex clinical case management and provide support to medical teams in admissions, discharges, ward management, therapeutic activities.
- Monitor and evaluate clinical compliance, ensuring registration and adherence to government healthcare regulations.
- Implement and oversee evidence-based SOPs for every condition and treatment undertaken.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with surgical partners.
- Assess surgical partners against clinical guidelines, quality standards, and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
- Conduct quality control and audits of surgical partnerships to ensure the delivery of high-quality healthcare services.
- Oversee the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to ensure accurate data entry and maintain data integrity.
- Establish and lead strategic research partnerships to conduct projects that align with the organisation’s research priorities and key questions
- Leverage data, research plan and strategic partnerships to drive the execution of research projects that address key research questions
- Lead the development of new and the management of existing partnerships with universities and educational institutions to facilitate student clinical placements.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding, and coordination of clinical volunteers, interns, and graduates to enhance and strengthen clinical programs
- Ensure the provision of holistic services to children with treatable disabilities, enabling access to therapeutic programmes and treatment sustainability plans.
- Collect and analyse data to inform decision-making, track progress against work plans, and drive innovations in healthcare delivery.
- Provide clinical leadership, guidance, and expert advice to the Management team
- Prepare and monitor an annual budget for clinical programmes to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
- Foster a consistent organisational culture across programmes that upholds the values, vision, and mission of Kafika House.
- Prepare reports for key stakeholders, including government, donors, clinical partners and other relevant authorities.
Education, Skills, and Experience
- Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Public Health, or a related field. A Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Management, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience, which includes clinical management, patient care coordination, or partnership development.
- Experience working collaboratively with surgical, educational, and research partners in Tanzania’s healthcare system.
- Knowledge of and experience with Health Management Systems (e.g., Salesforce, DHIS 2, Care2x, AfyaPro) is an advantage.
- Strong understanding of Tanzania’s healthcare regulatory framework and government compliance requirements.
