    Strategy Associate (Secondment Opportunity)

    Key Roles and Responsibilities:

    Strategic Planning and Development:

    • Collaborate with the CEO and c-team to review and set strategic priorities for SHOFCO.
    • Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, a McKinsey alumnus, SHOFCO is in the process of reviewing its long term strategy, and this role will be a key part of this process – leading research and analysis to identify strategic opportunities and potential impact in specific program areas (health, climate, etc.) that address the needs of communities and build on SHOFCO’s capabilities.
    • In addition, assist in the development of business cases, proposals, and other work for new initiatives and partnerships.

    Program Delivery:

    • Work closely with program teams for SHOFCO’s biggest strategic programs (in economic empowerment and also in education) to drive impact – putting in place coordination structures, continuous improvement and effective performance management.
    • To design and refine program strategies, including education, health, economic empowerment, and community development initiatives.
    • Collaborate with Impact leadership on the design and implementation of frameworks to track program impact and outcomes.

    Innovation and Growth:

    • Explore innovative approaches and technologies that can enhance SHOFCO’s impact and scalability.
    • Identify opportunities for partnership development, collaboration, and resource mobilization. Support in the development of pilot projects and prototypes to test new ideas and interventions.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with other departments within SHOFCO, including Finance, Operations, and Program Management, to ensure alignment and integration of strategic initiatives.
    • Participate in cross-functional teams and working groups to address organizational challenges and drive continuous improvement

    Education Qualifications

    Academic Qualification:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Public Policy, International Development, or related field (MBA or equivalent experience is a plus).

    Professional Qualification:

    • Qualification in any relevant field

    Other required qualifications (unique/job specific):

    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in management consulting, with a focus on strategy, business development, or operations.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
    • Passion for social impact and a commitment to SHOFCO’s mission of combating poverty and gender inequality.
