Job Summary:
The Head Chef is responsible for overseeing all culinary operations within the hotel apartment, ensuring high-quality food preparation, menu innovation, and efficient kitchen management. They will lead the kitchen team, maintain food safety standards, control costs, and enhance the dining experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Culinary Operations & Menu Development
- Design and execute innovative menus catering to hotel guests.
- Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and taste of all dishes.
- Incorporate seasonal and locally sourced ingredients where possible.
Kitchen Management & Leadership
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain high performance and efficiency.
- Assign responsibilities and manage staff schedules effectively.
- Foster a positive and professional kitchen environment.
Food Safety & Hygiene
- Enforce all health and safety regulations, including HACCP and local food safety laws.
- Ensure proper food storage, preparation, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Conduct regular kitchen inspections and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Budgeting & Cost Control
- Monitor food costs, portion control, and minimize waste.
- Source quality ingredients while maintaining cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with suppliers for the best pricing and quality.
Guest Satisfaction & Special Requests
- Accommodate special dietary requirements and guest preferences.
- Ensure timely and efficient service for in-room dining and restaurant operations.
- Gather guest feedback and continuously improve the culinary experience.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Expertise in various cuisines and menu planning.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent communication and organiz2ational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Education & Experience:
- Degree or diploma in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years or more of experience in a senior kitchen role.
- Previous experience in hotel apartments, luxury hotels, or fine dining establishments is a plus.
