We are a fast-growing, high-quality professional audit, tax, and advisory firm with offices in Nairobi and Kisumu, Kenya. . In line with our rapid expansion, we are seeking a highly motivated, experienced and talented Audit Seniors/Assistants and Tax Seniors/Tax Assistants to join our dynamic team.

The Opportunity

This role offers an excellent career progression opportunity for the right candidate. You will report to the Audit and Tax Managers and Partners/Directors, working on various audit and other accounting/advisory engagements simultaneously. You will have the chance to lead assignments, demonstrating your proactive and solution-oriented approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leading:
    • Plan, lead, manage, and supervise the execution of external audits and other accounting/advisory engagements.
    • Assist with setting budgets, pricing, and deadlines, ensuring efficient project completion within these limits.
    • Review audit/accounting/advisory work, providing constructive feedback and finally signing-off on delivery reports.
  • Communication:
    • Conduct regular meetings with clients to obtain business updates, discuss issues, and present audit findings.
    • Interact directly with Partners on matters related to client and engagement management.
  • Staff Supervision:
    • Set objectives (goal-setting) with the audit team, providing support, coaching, and developing staff for advancement.
    • Train and mentor junior staff, offering constructive feedback on their performance.
  • Quality Control:
    • Implement and maintain high-quality audit work and exceptional client service.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Communicate effectively with clients and their internal accounting and audit departments to ensure exceptional service.
    • Build strong client relationships, anticipating needs, responding to inquiries, and balancing commercial concerns with technical accuracy.
  • Portfolio Management:
    • Ensure set project recovery levels are met, and audit fees are billed and collected on time.
  • Business Development (For Senior Roles):
    • Assist with strengthening existing client relationships and developing new business opportunities by participating in sales meetings and working on proposals.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must have at a minimum a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
  • Must be a qualified accountant (ACCA, CPA, ACA) with a minimum of 1 years of relevant audit experience in a reputable firm.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to identify potential audit issues arising from transactions.
  • Technically proficient in modern auditing methodologies, ISAs, and IFRSs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly and concisely convey complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership skills (for Senior roles), with a proven ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong work ethic and a dedication to exceeding client expectations.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ODOO, SAGE, Tally, Xero, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • A working knowledge of Kenyan tax laws is a plus.
  • An additional qualification in ICT is advantageous.
