Position: Assistant Production Manager – Dolly

Reports to: Operations Manager 

Position Type:Staff Position

Job Location: Dolly Estate, Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the Role: Oversee and ensure the efficient execution, monitoring, and reporting of all crop production operations, including nursery management, transplanting, crop maintenance, irrigation, pest control, and compliance with farm protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee nursery operations.
• Manage transplanting, sterilization, irrigation, and greenhouse climate control.
• Supervise plant maintenance tasks.
• Ensure proper scouting, spraying programs, and stock availability.
• Maintain production records, track climate history, and monitor crop health.
• Oversee pollination processes.
• Report structural or mechanical issues and ensure timely repairs.
• Manage production materials, workplace safety, and compliance with protocols.
• Organize work schedules, leave planning, and coordinate with HR on disciplinary matters.

Qualification and Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of pollination, emasculation, and crop health management practices.
• Over 5 years of work experience in a similar role and in a green house setting.
• Proven ability to supervise and guide teams effectively, ensuring high-quality performance.
• Quick decision-making and proactive management of maintenance and operational challenges.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for coordination with local and international teams.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in  working with multiple related software.
